A recent post on Realtor.com’s Staged, Styled and Sold Blog,  “Are Pools Worth the Expense?” got me thinking about my own pool. What has it cost for us to enjoy our pool this summer? 





When we purchased our home last year, one of the main selling points was the pool - a well-maintained gunite pool that was close to 50 years old. I spent every summer as a kid in my pool - swimming in it and cleaning it. Marco Polo. Canonballs. Ah, memories.



What Does Owning a Pool Cost?
We knew it would be expensive to own a pool. First there are the monthly costs:

Electric: -0/month

Supplies:  -/month

Heat:  -0/month

Insurance: I pay nothing extra for the pool. But this may not be the case for everyone. (more…)
