I am currently working with some First Time Home Buyers who have never had owned their own home.  Owning a home brings about responsibility for the homeowner to keep the home maintained.

This past weekend we had our biggest rain storm for the year so far but it won’t be our last.

It’s important to clean your gutters.  Did your gutters run like the one pictured to the left or was there just a slow drip?  Did you go outside during the rain to check your gutter downspouts?

Checking during a rain storm is the only way to know if your gutters are doing their job.  Your gutters should have be POURING water out them with this rain storm we had.  If it trickled than you have clogged gutters.  Gutters need to be cleaned at least twice a year and if there are trees around your home then you need to clean them more often.

Otherwise, you end up with rusted gutters and worse yet, a roof leak!  Both of these items are expensive to remediate.

A few years back I had gutter glove installed in the back portion of my home where there are redwood trees.  I’ve been very pleased and had no problems.  There are several different brands available.  Be sure to check out the YouTube Gutterglove Gutter Guard video to see why I called and had them install Gutter Glove Guard at my home.

First Time Home Buyers are making some good decisions buying homes for sale in Sacramento and learning what it takes to be a homeowner who maintains their new home.  This is just one of the many ways a new homeowner maintains their new home.
